"The architecture juries across Australia have been busy in the last few months, travelling around each state looking at the mix of buildings put forward for awards through the Australian Institute of Architects. By Design visits one of the winners, a building on Crown St, Surry Hills, right in the centre of Sydney. The Surry Hills Library and Community Centre has won a number of awards and hearts since it opened a year ago, including most recently the 2010 NSW AIA Milo Dunphy Award for Sustainable Architecture. This building, which houses a preschool, a library and a community centre, was designed by one of Australia's most prominent architects, Richard Francis Jones, for the City of Sydney."
